Slovak Football Podcast Host Says He Refused Large Sum to Cover Slovan Bratislava

Matej Mutiš, co-host of VAR, one of Slovakia's most successful sports podcasts, revealed that he and his colleague Július Turček were offered a substantial amount of money to provide coverage of Slovan Bratislava football club. The podcasting duo, known as Julo and Muťo, declined the offer based on their principles. VAR recently celebrated its fifth anniversary and has become one of the most influential voices in Slovak football, leading to the hosts securing their own television show on TA3. The podcast's success has established Mutiš and Turček as prominent figures in Slovak sports media, with their independent approach apparently attracting both audience loyalty and commercial interest from football organizations.
