Walsh Sets New World Record in Women's 100m Butterfly at 54.33 Seconds

American swimmer Gretchen Walsh broke the world record in the women's 100-meter butterfly, clocking 54.33 seconds. Walsh improved her previous personal best by 27 hundredths of a second, swimming in the same pool where she had set her previous mark in May of last year. The new record represents a significant achievement in competitive swimming, as the 100-meter butterfly is one of the sport's most prestigious events.
