Slovak tennis player Vargová secured a victory over Llaverías to advance to the second round of a tennis tournament taking place in Košice, Slovakia's second-largest city. However, two other Slovak players, Radka Zelníčková and Soňa Depešová, were less successful in their Tuesday matches at the same tournament. The tournament represents an opportunity for Slovak tennis players to compete on home soil in the eastern Slovak city.
