Košice Geothermal Heating Project Advances to Next Phase After Completing New Wells

Košice's geothermal heating project has moved into its next phase following the successful completion of three new geothermal wells in the Svinica-Ďurkov area. The Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization continues supporting the ecological heating initiative through the Just Transition Fund, which finances strategic projects aimed at transitioning Slovakia's coal-dependent regions to cleaner energy sources. The geothermal project represents a significant step toward sustainable heating for Slovakia's second-largest city, which has been seeking alternatives to traditional fossil fuel-based heating systems.
