Pezinok Opens 2026 Participatory Budget for Citizen Project Proposals
The city of Pezinok has launched its 2026 Participatory Budget program, inviting residents, communities, businesses, and organizations to submit proposals for public benefit projects. The initiative allows citizens to directly participate in municipal decision-making by proposing and voting on projects that will be funded from the city's budget. Participatory budgeting is a democratic process where residents can propose community improvement projects and help decide how a portion of municipal funds should be spent. Pezinok, located in the Bratislava region about 20 kilometers northeast of the capital, is among several Slovak municipalities that have adopted this citizen engagement tool to involve residents more directly in local governance and urban development.
