Over 4,000 Slovak ninth-graders fail to secure high school places after admission tests

A total of 4,149 ninth-grade students in Slovakia failed to secure places at secondary schools following the first round of entrance examinations. The Bratislava region recorded the highest number of rejected applicants, with 849 students unable to gain admission to high schools. The admission process has faced various problems, prompting education officials to provide guidance on appeal procedures and information about remaining available spots for students who were unsuccessful in the initial selection round.
