The USS Gerald R. Ford, the world's largest American aircraft carrier, has departed the Middle East region and entered the area overseen by the US European Command (EUCOM), according to a military spokesperson. The Ford-class supercarrier's movement represents a significant shift in US naval positioning, as the massive warship transitions from Middle Eastern waters to the European theater of operations. The USS Gerald R. Ford, commissioned in 2017, is the lead ship of the newest class of American aircraft carriers and represents the most advanced naval technology in the US fleet, capable of carrying approximately 75 aircraft and housing over 4,500 crew members.
