Wolf Spotted at Highway Rest Stop Unable to Cross Fence

A wolf was observed at the Sosna rest area along the D1 highway, Slovakia's main east-west motorway connecting Bratislava to Košice. The animal appeared unable to navigate past the fencing around the highway infrastructure. Wildlife encounters near major Slovak highways are relatively uncommon, though the country's mountainous regions do support wolf populations that occasionally venture into areas near human infrastructure.
