Nitra to Host Gathering of People Named Cyril and Methodius at City Festival

The city of Nitra will organize a special gathering of people named Cyril and Methodius from across Slovakia and abroad as part of its municipal celebrations. The event is being coordinated by Nitra's Tourist Information Center, which aims to bring together individuals who share the names of the two Byzantine missionaries who brought Christianity and the written word to the Slavic peoples in the 9th century. Saints Cyril and Methodius are revered as the patron saints of Slovakia and other Slavic nations, making the gathering particularly symbolic for the historic city of Nitra, which played a crucial role in early Slovak Christian history.
