The group, including Adam Sýkora and Filip Mešár, lost in the quarterfinals to Finland 4-3 in overtime, with key mistakes by Maxim Štrbák and goaltender Adam Gajan contributing to the defeat. Despite that disappointment, the players have since pursued successful professional careers, with several now competing in top international hockey leagues.
