Driver under influence of drugs hits 6-year-old child and flees scene near Košice

A driver struck a 6-year-old boy with his car in the village of Debraď near Košice over the weekend and fled the scene without providing assistance to the injured child. Police quickly tracked down the driver and conducted a drug test, which confirmed the presence of illegal substances in his system. The hit-and-run incident has highlighted concerns about impaired driving in the eastern Slovak region around Košice, the country's second-largest city.
