A producer of the television series "Neuer" publicly criticized the Slovak Film and Television Academy, stating she does not understand the academy's motivations and expressing concerns about the state of Slovak culture. The awards ceremony, intended to celebrate Slovak cinematography, instead left some domestic creators with a bitter aftertaste over the selection process and outcomes.
