Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced Tuesday that their forces successfully located and shot down a modern American MQ-9 Reaper drone. The Iranian military also claimed to have opened fire on two additional US strategic targets in its airspace: a large RQ-4 Global Hawk surveillance aircraft and an advanced stealth F-35 fighter jet. The Iranian announcement comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with Iran warning the United States against violating ceasefire agreements. The Revolutionary Guards, Iran's elite military force responsible for protecting the Islamic Republic's political system, made the claims as part of what they described as retaliatory actions against American military presence in the region.
