EU Could Facilitate Iran-US Negotiations, Says Kaja Kallas

European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said the EU could help facilitate negotiations between Iran and the United States. Kallas indicated the EU offers naval operations capabilities and nuclear expertise to help broker a permanent ceasefire between the two countries and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. EU member states have not joined the conflict in Iran, with some refusing to allow the US military to use American bases on their territory for combat operations.
