Police in eastern Slovakia investigated the discovery of a handgun in the Laborec River after a woman spotted the weapon while crossing a bridge. The firearm was identified as a pistol of unknown make or model. The Laborec River flows through the Košice region in eastern Slovakia, passing through several towns before joining the Bodrog River near the Hungarian border. Police have not yet released details about the weapon's origin or how long it may have been submerged in the water.
