FIFA imposes transfer ban on fourth-tier Girondins Bordeaux

FIFA has imposed a transfer ban on Girondins Bordeaux, the French club that has fallen to the fourth division. According to French media reports, the ban stems from an allegedly unpaid transfer fee of 1.5 million euros owed to Spanish club Sporting Gijon for the 2023 transfer of Pedro Diaz. The sanction prevents the financially troubled Bordeaux from registering new players until the debt is resolved.
