The 58-year-old Canadian was selected from a trio of finalists that also included Dan Muse from the Pittsburgh Penguins and Lindy Ruff from the Buffalo Sabres. The Jack Adams Award is given annually to the National Hockey League coach judged to have contributed most to his team's success during the regular season.
