Košice launches €1.3 million sidewalk renovation project across city districts
Košice, Slovakia's second-largest city and the main urban center in the east, began comprehensive sidewalk repairs this week with a budget of €1.3 million. The project will install new asphalt surfaces on sidewalks across major city districts, starting with more than 20 locations including residential streets, areas around schools, and commercial zones. The renovation covers streets such as Čajakova, Florianska, Vojenská, and Južná trieda, as well as sidewalks near elementary schools on Belehradská and Fábryho streets, and areas around the East Polyclinic on Maršala Koneva street. The comprehensive repair program represents a significant infrastructure investment aimed at improving pedestrian accessibility throughout Slovakia's eastern metropolis.
