Series of Container Fires Strikes Košice as Arsonist Moves Through City

Fire crews responded to multiple container fires across Košice during overnight hours as an arsonist moved through different areas of the city. The emergency services dealt with a series of deliberate fires targeting waste containers throughout the night. Košice, Slovakia's second-largest city and the main urban center of the eastern region, experienced the coordinated arson attacks that required firefighters to deploy to multiple locations as the perpetrator continued setting fires in various parts of the municipality.
