Slovakia Marks 107th Anniversary of General Štefánik's Death

Slovakia commemorates the 107th anniversary of the death of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik, one of the country's most revered historical figures. Štefánik, who died tragically in 1919, rose to prominence in European diplomacy through a path that included significant contributions to science. He remains a key figure in Slovak national history as one of the founding fathers of Czechoslovakia alongside Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and Edvard Beneš, playing a crucial role in establishing the first Czechoslovak state after World War I through his diplomatic efforts in France and his work in organizing Czechoslovak military units abroad.
