Construction workers in Michalovce halted scaffolding installation after discovering nests of endangered birds on the building site. The swift intervention allowed the bird nests to remain undisturbed, protecting the species during what is likely their breeding season. Michalovce, located in eastern Slovakia near the Ukrainian border, took the conservation measure to comply with wildlife protection laws that prohibit disturbing nesting sites of protected species.
