Winter Returns to Bratislava Region Mountains as Snow Disrupts Roads

Share:

Winter weather returned to higher elevations in Slovakia's Bratislava region overnight from March 26-27, 2026, bringing snowfall that required emergency road maintenance. The heaviest snowfall affected mountain routes including Pezinská Baba, Zochova chata, and Červený Kameň areas, where regional road crews deployed equipment to clear the highest elevation sections. The Bratislava regional government, which oversees local infrastructure and transportation outside the capital city, mobilized winter maintenance operations to ensure mountain roads remained passable despite the unseasonable late-March snowfall.
