Slovak National Theatre begins historic building renovation project with 2028 deadline

The Slovak National Theatre has awarded a contract for the renovation of its historic building, with complete project documentation required by May 2028. The contract, worth over four million euros including VAT, was awarded through a public procurement process launched in November 2025, where price served as the main evaluation criterion. The renovation represents the first major milestone in restoring one of Slovakia's most significant cultural landmarks, the SND's historic building that houses the country's premier theatre company.
