Bratislava Region Advances Major Health and Sports Campus Project in Petržalka
The Bratislava Self-Governing Region has moved forward with its planned Health and Sports Campus project in Petržalka, one of Bratislava's largest residential districts. After more than five years of preparation, the project is entering its implementation phase as one of the region's largest historical investments. The campus aims to transform approaches to sports, education, and health prevention in the Slovak capital. Petržalka, located on the southern bank of the Danube River, is home to over 100,000 residents and represents one of Central Europe's largest housing estates built during the communist era. The Bratislava Self-Governing Region serves as the administrative authority for the area surrounding Slovakia's capital city, responsible for regional development projects, healthcare facilities, and educational infrastructure. This investment represents a significant commitment to modernizing public health and sports facilities in the densely populated district.
