Slovakia explores new cross-border bus service to additional Austrian villages
Share:
Slovak transport authorities are gauging public interest in establishing a new international bus route connecting Bratislava with several Austrian communities. The proposed line 902 would operate between Slovakia's capital and the Austrian villages of Kittsee, Berg, Edelstal, and Prellenkirchen. The route would expand cross-border public transportation options in the Bratislava region, where existing services already connect the Slovak capital with some Austrian destinations. Such cross-border transport links have become increasingly important as residents on both sides of the border commute for work and leisure, taking advantage of Slovakia's EU membership and the open border policies within the Schengen Area.
