Environmental organization My sme les (We Are Forest) has raised concerns about tree cutting activities in the biotope of the western capercaillie, a protected grouse species, within the Tatra National Park (TANAP). The affected area is located near Račková Valley in Slovakia's premier mountain national park. The western capercaillie is an endangered forest bird species that requires specific old-growth forest conditions for survival, making habitat preservation critical for its conservation in the High Tatras mountain region.
