Pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and BioNTech have discontinued a vaccine study in the United States after failing to recruit sufficient volunteers. The study aimed to enroll approximately 25,000 participants but was terminated on March 6 following a reassessment of current epidemiological trends. The companies closed recruitment for the trial due to challenges in finding adequate numbers of willing participants for the research.
