Fake Painters Defraud Elderly Bratislava Woman of 5,800 Euros in Home Scam

Two men from the Malacky district have been charged by police for defrauding a 79-year-old Bratislava woman of 5,800 euros under the pretense of offering painting services. The suspects used the common scam of approaching the elderly victim with promises of home renovation work to gain access to her property and steal money. Police successfully tracked down and arrested the perpetrators in the Záhorie region, west of Bratislava. The case highlights ongoing concerns about fraudulent schemes targeting seniors in Slovakia, where criminals often exploit the trust of elderly residents by posing as tradesmen or service providers.
