Slovak customs officials intercept illegal drug exports to Ukraine at border crossings

Slovak Financial Administration customs officers discovered two cases of illegal pharmaceutical exports to Ukraine during operations over the past weekend at border crossings in Ubľa-Malyj Bereznyj and Vyšné Nemecké-Užhorod. Authorities seized more than 100 packages of medications, including preparations containing narcotic and psychotropic substances. The Financial Administration is Slovakia's tax and customs authority responsible for monitoring cross-border trade and preventing smuggling operations. The seizures highlight ongoing challenges with illegal pharmaceutical trafficking across Slovakia's eastern border, which has become a significant transit route since the start of the conflict in Ukraine.
