French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France and Germany remain committed to their collaboration on the Future Combat Air System (FCAS), a joint European fighter jet development program. Speaking from the Élysée Palace, Macron emphasized that the partnership extends beyond just the FCAS project itself and encompasses broader European security cooperation. The FCAS program represents one of Europe's most ambitious defense initiatives, aimed at developing a next-generation fighter aircraft to replace current fleets and reduce European dependence on non-European defense manufacturers.
