Hezbollah Lawmaker Calls for Lebanon to Withdraw From Negotiations With Israel

Share:

A Hezbollah parliamentarian has demanded that Lebanon's government end direct negotiations with Israel, citing lack of public support during wartime and ceasefire violations. Muhammad Raad, representing Hezbollah in Lebanon's parliament, called for the termination of ongoing talks between the two countries. The demand comes despite U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement that the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon would be extended by three weeks, even though it has been sporadically violated. Hezbollah is a Shia Islamist political party and militant group that controls significant territory in southern Lebanon and holds seats in the country's parliament, while maintaining an armed wing that has been in conflict with Israel.
