European Court of Justice President Visits Slovak Constitutional Court
The president of the European Court of Justice visited Slovakia's Constitutional Court, where discussions focused on judicial decisions from both institutions. Koen Lenaerts, who heads the European Union's highest court based in Luxembourg, met with Slovak constitutional judges to examine rulings from both the Constitutional Court and the European Court of Justice. The Constitutional Court serves as Slovakia's highest authority on constitutional matters and fundamental rights, while the European Court of Justice interprets EU law and ensures its uniform application across member states. Such judicial exchanges are part of ongoing cooperation between national constitutional courts and EU institutions to ensure consistency in legal interpretation and the protection of fundamental rights within the European legal framework.
